Every ballet company has two theaters.

There’s the one you buy a ticket to that everyone sees: the lights, the snow, the bows.

And there’s the other one: the rosin box in the wing, the long nights of rehearsals, the Thursday night the dancers run it clean for an empty house, the moment an academy dancer finds out someone paid for their season and doesn’t know who.

This is your invitation into that Second Theater.

Dancers rise through a company one rank at a time, from corps, to soloist, to principal, and nobody gets there by asking. Members of our Society rise the same way. Seven ranks, each carrying everything beneath it, each adding something you can’t buy: early access, a relationship with the art, or your name attached to the work. No tote bag. No mug. Nothing on this list is something you can ask for in a gift shop.

By joining the Sugar Plum Society, you’re supporting art and artists in our city. $100 pays for a pair of pointe shoes. $500 creates new costumes for future productions. $1,000 pays for a semester of training for a dancer in our academy. $5,000 pays for an entire class of local schoolchildren to see our Once Upon a Nutcracker performance. And the benefits only skyrocket from there. Your donations change lives and create more artists right here in our community.

$50 First Position- Support and maintain the studio space where our dancers learn their art and develop their skills

Includes:

  • A handwritten thank-you note from our dancers

$100 Rosin Box- Support the conditioning equipment and staff that keep our dancers healthy and active as they put in hard work needed to create

  • A 2026 Nutcracker finger puppet created by SJDT
  • Your name in the Nutcracker program

$250 Corps de Ballet- Supports the cost of maintaining our existing production sets, costumes, and props.

Includes everything above, as well as:

  • 2 seats at the Thursday night dress rehearsal on December 10
  • Your name listed in the Corps de Ballet section of the program

$500 Soloist- Supports the creation of a brand-new costume for our productions.

Includes everything above, as well as:

  • 2 VIP Lounge invitations with any ticket purchase
  • A personal thank-you from the stage before each show

$1,000 Principal- Subsidizes academy tuition for a dancer for one semester to continue their training.

Includes everything above, as well as:

  • 2 best-available seats to the December 12 evening performance
  • 1 month of free Adult or Academy classes for you, or to offer as a gift to one of our enrolled dancers
  • A program listing that says what your gift actually did: Make a dancer’s season with just one gift.

$2,500 Artistic Director’s Circle- Subsidizes academy tuition for an entire semester for a dancer to continue their training.

Includes everything above, as well as:

  • 4 best-available seats and VIP Lounge access at any show
  • Recognition on the Nutcracker poster
  • Invitation to a 'Lunch with the Artistic Director' event in 2027
  • A scene dedication in the program:
    “The Snow Scene is presented by the ______ family or organization.”

$5,000 Presenting Partner- Pays for an entire class of school ages children to see our production of "Once Upon a Nutcracker" at the Center for Performing Arts

Includes everything above, as well as:

  • named presenting sponsorship of one act with acknowledgement from the stage at every formance
  • Your logo on all Nutcracker marketing
  • 4 Tickets to our production of "Peter Pan" at The Hammer Theatre in 2027
  • The right tome the donation - "The ____ Award" - Carried on SJDT materials for a full year

Monthly Giving Counts as Annual Giving. Same rank, same recognition, spread across the year.

Company Matches Count Too. Many South Bay companies match charitable donations. You’ll be recognized at the combined giving level. For example, a $500 gift matched by your employer becomes a $1,000 contribution and is recognized at the Principal level.
